I am back out on the field this time as a Squad leader. I am leading for Gap V, a group of 39 young men and women taking a gap year to do missions everyone is between 18-20 years old a lot of what I am doing this time is walking alongside the racers in their journey I have spent the majority of my time with the men in this first few weeks. I have two co-leaders Aly Badinger and Jackie Halyard. they are two spirit filled women who lead with incredible hearts.
the team of men (aka silverback) and one of the teams of women (aka Tribe) are working together for the first two months to build a wall around a property housing young women who have been rescued from sex trafficking
we get to spend some mornings with the girls hanging out this week we played soccer with them and celebrated one of the girls birthdays. it was the first time she had ever celebrated or had others celebrating her.
the rest of the time we are building the wall. this wall is the physical reputation of a hedge of protection in their lives, a number of the guys have been shown the connection between us and Nehemiah. we are here for two months and he rebuilt the wall around Jerusalem in 52 days, the holy city. we are building a wall around a holy place, a place of safety, refuge
I will be on the field for the full nine months of the trip and would love prayers.
Prayer request list:
We are heading into our first debrief this week it is a time of rest and reflection pray that the squad would get what they need out of this week.
We have had a lot of sickness in this beginning part of our race, pray for health ( physical, emotional, and spiritual).
Unity on the teams as we head into month two and conflict begins to arise pray we would push into the hard things and the Lord, looking beyond ourselves.
I am still fundraising to stay on the field for the full nine months. I need to have 3,800 $ to stick around. all donations are tax-deductible, to donate click the orange button at the top of the page.
